Canada’s Postal Strike
+ Union asking for wage increases of 3.3% 1st year and 2.75% each of the next 3 years. Canada Post is offering 1.9% annually.
+ Canada Post wants new employee starting rate reduced to $18/hour (down 22%) and existing workers pay topped at $26/ hour.
+ Workers currently get 3 weeks vacation, increasing to 7 weeks after 28 years of service.
