J. Angus Watt (Managing Director)

Mr. Watt graduated from York University in 1974, entered the investment industry immediately, and is now a Managing Director of National Bank Financial. His expertise is in assisting with long term, Financial Planning, Group Benefits, and Estate Planning. He was recognized with the 1999 Investment Dealers Association ‘Program of Distinction Award’ for the Prairie Region. Currently, Mr. Watt and his team manage approximately $500,000,000 in assets.

Mr. Watt’s community involvement includes being the Chairman of The United Way of Northern Alberta for two years, a “Paul Harris Fellow” awarded by the Rotary Club of Canada and the past chair of the Minerva Foundation and the Support Network, and The Support Network Foundation. Angus is currently the Chair of the Edmonton Police Services Foundation, and is a member of the TELUS Edmonton Community Board.




Jane Alm (Investment Advisor)

Mrs. Alm has been working with Angus Watt since 1980 and is fully credited as an investment advisor with options. In the past 15 years, she has developed an expertise in North American income products ranging from overnight money to long-term securities. As our team’s “Fixed Income Expert”, Mrs. Alm is responsible for providing a daily interest rate comment and assists in the development of our fixed income opinion. In addition, Mrs. Alm assists with the management and service of our client’s portfolios.




Jan Frederickson (Investment Advisor)

Mrs. Frederickson joined the Angus Watt team in January 2002 and comes with over 25 years of experience in the finance / investment industry. She holds a Level 1 Life Insurance License and has completed the Professional Financial Planning Course through the Canadian Securities Institute. Mrs. Frederickson has an extensive knowledge of personal income tax and assists the team with portfolio management and servicing.



Jill King (Trader)

Mrs. King has over 12 years experience in the investment industry and joined the Angus Watt team in January of 2005. She is licensed by the Investment Dealers Association of Canada and is also a licensed member of the Alberta Insurance Council. Jill's main duties include trading and assisting with institutional account coverage.



Kelly Gibson (Investment Assistant)

Ms. Gibson graduated from the University of Alberta in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree with Specialization in Mathematics and Finance. Ms. Gibson has been with the Angus Watt team for three years and has her IDA license. Ms Gibson deals with the research on open-end funds, client coverage, and month-end report preparation.



Bryan Loh (Investment Assistant)

Mr. Loh recently graduated from the University of Alberta in 2006 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Business Law. He recently joined the Angus Watt team in the spring of 2007. Mr. Loh is currently licensed with the IDA and is working towards his options designation. Mr. Loh currently assists the team with stock coverage, client coverage and administrative matters.



Angela Grekul (Senior Administrator)

Mrs. Grekul joined the team in the spring of 2007 and brings with her fifteen years of experience in the financial industry. She is currently working towards her licensing with the IDA. Ms. Ryan assists the team with client coverage, budgeting and senior administrative matters.



Jason Ewasuik (Summer Intern)

Mr. Ewasuik is the newest addition to the Angus Watt team. He is entering his fourth year as a Finance Major at the JR School of Business at NAIT. Mr. Ewasuik has completed the Canadian Securities Course and is working on the Conduct and Practices Handbook. Mr. Ewasuik assists the team with security coverage, and client and administrative matters.




D. Geoff Cook (Benefits & Planning Director)

Mr. Cook studied Marketing and Finance at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Mr. Cook has been in the insurance industry for 11 years, the last 10 years with NBF Financial Services. He specializes in employee benefit/compensation programs, corporate/personal planning and risk management. Mr. Cook is licenced in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario.



Barb Huculak (Benefits and Planning Specialist)

Ms. Huculak graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in psychology. From her background in small business and business development she has derived strong skills in project coordination. Since Ms. Huculak joined the Angus Watt team in 2004, she has become fully licensed in Life and Accident & Sickness insurance with the Alberta Insurance Council. She is currently continuing her education toward obtaining her Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation. As a Benefits Specialist, Ms. Huculak works with group clients on current benefit plan matters. She also provides them assistance in the ongoing analysis of their benefit needs.



Erin Lees (Benefits and Planning Assistant)

Ms. Lees graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Marketing. She has continued her education by completing the Project Management Professional certificate, and is currently enrolled in the Canadian Insurance Course working towards becoming a licensed member. Ms. Lees recently joined the Angus Watt team in March 2007. As a Benefits and Planning Assistant of NBF Financial Services, Ms. Lees works as part of the team with group clients to assess employee benefit programs. In addition she is also responsible for the continual review and analysis of client’s group RSP programs, and administration of new and in force insurance policies.



Alysha Nicholson (Benefits and Planning Assistant)

Ms. Nicholson graduated from Grant MacEwan College with a diploma in Business Management in 2006, and has since been working at National Bank Financial. She has recently joined the Employee Benefits and Compensation division of the team and is looking forward to continuing her education within the industry. As a Benefits & Planning Assistant, Ms. Nicholson deals with client communication and administrative matters.




Doug Williams (Benefits & Planning Corporate Development)

Mr. Williams has been with the National Bank Financial team since the Spring of 2000. Mr. Williams’ experience in Benefits and Planning Corporate Development helps our partners to stay at the forefront of market developments, as well as monitoring clients feedback to help formulate concerns within the industry. He then uses this information to prepare seminars and research to assist our clients in these areas of interest.
